Here's FWIW my 2 cents on MCD.

Just returned from a Sunday morning breakfast at McDonalds! As a father, I've taken my kids there frequently over the years, but what I find most horrendous is their extreme high shrilled bells, buzzers, & whistles, going off constantly in the background. It's just a constant squeal of high pitched sounds.....!

Meanwhile, when I visited Hardy's or BK it's more pleasant to the ears!

Yes, I am one of those who exits the house the minute my wife turns on the vacuum cleaner! However, I can tolerate that sound better than those at my local MCD!

Next time, if you visit MCD, just listen............

I have listened. That's exactly why I eat at Wendys and also own their stock. When I do visit McD, it's usually a drive-thru. I don't particularly care for much of McD's food. Those "adult" sandwiches are horrible and overpriced. I am a Wendy's loyalist. As fast food goes, it's good - plain and simple.

Yes the timers on the equipment at Mac's do add to the din. I also prefer Wendy's, but would like it better if the PA system that the cashier announces the orders to the cooks with was replaced with a message board tied to the cash register. That way each selection would light up on the board quietly as it is rung up. NCR is free of T now, lets see them work on something like that. Plan B would be to have the register print out the order, as it does at BK.
